Bensenville, IL (May 2nd, 2013) – Chicago Steel forward Christopher Dodero has committed to play his college hockey at Colorado College after the conclusion of his United States Hockey League career.
Dodero, who is a 1996 birth year, competed in 52 games last season with the Steel and registered 12 points (5g, 7a); including two goals in a 5-2 loss to Youngstown back on April 10. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound resident of Bloomingdale, Ill., scored his first USHL goal on Nov. 2, 2012 to help the Steel to a 7-4 road victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede.
“We are very excited that Chris will continue his playing career at Colorado College following his playing days in the USHL,” Steel head coach Scott McConnell said. “He will continue to develop as a player and as a person, and will be ready to step in at CC in a few years and make an immediate impact. The coaching staff at Colorado College is one of the best in the nation, and combined with CC’s academic reputation and its hockey facilities, I can’t think of a better place for Chris to play collegiately.”
Dodero is the third member of the 2012-13 squad to make their commitment to Colorado College. He joins Alex Roos and Jaccob Slavin who will also wear the black and gold for the Tigers.
