The 5-foot-9, 170-pound left-winger is currently in his second season with the Aberdeen Wings and is the captain of the North American Hockey League team.

Sicoly, who has a 1998 birth date, previously played two full seasons with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League and before that, skated for the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League. He has 21 goals in 38 games for Aberdeen thus far this 2018-2019 NAHL season.

Aberdeen head coach Scott Langer noted that Sicoly’s “work ethic and character have allowed him to achieve big things including this commitment to Mount Royal University.

“Nic has helped set the bar high when it comes to the standards of the Aberdeen Wings,” Langer added. “He is a special young man who has a lot of success ahead of him. Mount Royal has got itself a high end individual.”
Sicoly, who is represented by Sault Ste. Marie native David Maciuk of Chicago-based JDM Sports, said his commitment to Mount Royal is “extremely exciting and would not be possible without the support of so many … I look forward to beginning a new chapter next fall at Mount Royal University.”

Mount Royal is a member of U Sports, which is Canada’s governing body for university athletics.
